AEthelmearc 10 Year, Equestrian Event : From Alexander - The Equestrian Autocrat for 10 Year: "This event was a bit more news worthy than folks would think. This was the first time in over twenty years Coopers agreed to allow the SCA to have horses on their property. The Coopers went out of their way to find us a site, do site improvements (Including running 500' of water line down to the site) and provide transportation to those who wished it so they could come and see the games. My set-up crew consisted of the following gentles: Sir Aengus, Maitresse Yvianne, their sons Duncan and Roland, my son Andrew and my daughter Deirdre and HRM Rurik. This group did a wonderful job helping me get the grounds ready. The following people provided equipment for the area: Zoe provided the round pen and large water troughs, Mistress Irene provided the "Professional Stunt Pigs", heads and head stands and two spears for general use. Dominic Mac Moreland provided a weapon rack and weapons for general use. Gunnar provided us with heads and headstands. I provided a mounting block, ring standards and rings, two quintains, various weapons for general use and the spectator shade pavilion. Other riders brought their own weapons. As you can see, a small group can generate a lot of equipment. The riders were: Gozen, Rhiannon, Marta, Alexandra, Dominic, Bea, Sir Greadwynn, Banshee, Tigernach and Gunnar. The horses were: Sic'Em, Cringer, Taco, Big John, Desi, Caine and Rocky. The MiC was: Alexander assisted by Rannveigr. Groundsmen were: Rannveigr, Sir Michael, and one gentle who's name escapes me at the moment. The Games were: Rings, Double Quintain, Pig Hunt, Heads (Zig-zag), Heads (Two rows) and Crestfallen competions. Everyone who participated is to be commended. Both riders and horses did a great job. We were visited by the Coopers (Both Dave and his parents) and they were very pleased with the running of the games and the way we set-up on and took care of their property. In addition to the games we authorized three new equestrian marshals (Almost doubling the number of same in the Kingdom) Dominic, Gozen and Rhiannon. This is a long process that requires several stages to complete. They are all to be congratulated. At this event, Sir Greadwynn joined the Marshal's staff as a marshal in training."
